Meet Sharon

Hey there, lovely friends! I’m Sharon, and I’m so thrilled that you’ve found your way to my blog! I started blogging in November 2010 and recently launched the Good Hope Oils Blog. I love the creative outlet blogging provides to better connect people and ideas and to share the love of essential oils.

I share hope for women from all walks as we navigate through the real challenges of life. Sometimes challenges can be overwhelming, right? I juggle family life just like you. My husband, Tom, is a life coach and corporate chaplain who also works with professional athletes. Tom and I blog about hope for addiction recovery and cancer strategies from our personal experiences over on the Good Hope Blog. Our daughters are young adults (one is married – we have the coolest son-in-law ever) and it is a joy to see them grow and pursue the dreams God has given to them.

One of the gifts God has given to me is a personal journey through stage 3 and stage 4 colon about sharon o'connor essential oilscancer beginning in 2010. I’ve encountered multiple surgeries, a colostomy, chemo and radiation, ileostomy, a colostomy reversal, and the return of cancer a year later on October 1, 2012. I’ve been clear since August 2013 after juicing, raw foods, supplements, a second round of chemo and radiation, and a return to juicing and raw foods for about 18 months. Every spring I have my annual tune up. As in, a CT scan to check my cancer status. I go through a little “scanxiety” preparing for that visit. But you know what? God is faithful. He’s faithful to help me every day. He’ll be faithful tomorrow, no matter what you and I may face (even cancer). I believe He’s given me the gift of encouragement through blogging and also through music. YOU have gifts too!

Empowering women, strengthening survivors of life challenges, and encouraging women to embrace Hope using biblical principles is what I love to do. I’ve discovered the joy of essential oils and am thrilled to be finding support for my personal wellness goals. Cancer treatment put me into early menopause and for six years I’ve chosen not to use medication for symptoms. You start to worry about the side effects of EVERYTHING after you go through a grueling cancer battle. I found the safe and effective support I was seeking for my personal wellness goals through essential oils recently; in particular I love sharing about the wonderful benefits of Progessence Plus.

I am passionately committed to helping women make small intentional changes managing the challenges of life. I’m learning to carve out more time and working to reduce stress and to rest confidently in who I am as a woman and Christ-follower.

I find stress relief through walking and Pilates and writing. I am an avid reader, novice still-life and stock photographer, and seasoned pianist and fiddle player. Music is the gift God has allowed me to share all of my life, usually in the local church, and I find great joy in worshiping God through music.

Sharing my story through blogging and speaking as guest at local university wellness classes is something I highly enjoy. Contact me at goodhopebloggers [@] gmail.com.

I hope you find kind words, helpful information and effective encouragement for wherever you are on your journey in life. Be sure to sign up to receive my posts quietly in your in-box! And now? Learn more now about why I love Young Living Essential Oils!
